This is the end of my first year of highschool. Wow.

This year has been so amazing. My friends and peers have been awesome, the teachers have been pretty great, and this year has just been, well, amazing.

The first day of school was a little intimidating. I kept thinking "Omg highschool! New stuff!" But now, I am thinking more on the lines of "Omg it's over! This year has gone by too fast!"

I am really going to miss everything. We had such a great group this year! Everything has just been so much fun and I would not trade any of the experiences I have had for the world. Okay, so maybe I exaggerated a little with the whole "for the world" part.....

Anyways, really, in a wrap, this year has just been.....AMAZING! I look forward to another great year next year as a junior.

:)writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-60146577919166879442009-04-21T19:17:00.003-07:002009-04-27T15:36:05.816-07:00So much depends upon...So much depends
upon

a brass
doorknob

rough and rugged from
use

within the dark
times

Yeah I know. You are probably wondering what all that means. Although this may not make any sense to you, this makes perfect sense to me.

Have you ever just had a horrible day? What got you through it?

Ever heard the expression "when one door closes, another one opens"?

Think of it this way, the brass doorknob is connected to a door, and this door opens to something better. The doorknob is rough and rugged because so many people have been in similar situations and opened up the same door to freedom. This also explains the dark times part.

Now do you see what I mean? Do you understand? If not, maybe you viewed this in a different way. I never said there was a right or wrong view of this. I guess there could be many different opinions. I guess as long as you atleast get something out of it, then everythings all good.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-39776844640188622262009-04-19T19:16:00.000-07:002009-04-26T14:14:43.851-07:00My Favorite Techie ToolI have a couple of favorite "techie" tools that we use around school.

The first is the computer. I really enjoy the computer because this is where the world wide web resides. The internet really helps out in class when doing research on certain topics, blogging in english class, or just to pass the time when given free time.

Next I really like the smart board. In one of my classes my teacher uses the smart board to draw up problems and equations. The smart board has a number of different symbols and shapes already programmed into it so messed up pictures on a regular board are no longer needed. I find this very helpful, and ofcourse this would not even work right without the aforementioned computer!

My last favorite is a very simple tool. Most do not really think much of the electric pencil sharpener (EPS) but I do. This wonderful device saves so much time when a pencil is in need of being sharpened. Oh! Not only is the EPS faster but it is also quieter! A 2-in-1!writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-47874940861107482762009-04-05T17:32:00.000-07:002009-04-08T17:23:20.236-07:00A Pretty Lazy Spring BreakThis spring break I pretty much did nothing. I laid around the house, watched television, and practically lived off of Facebook. Oh yes, and ofcourse I stayed in my pajamas as long as possible. Okay hold up. I would love to say that this was all that went down, but really I did leave the house a couple of times.

The first Friday night I went to the Twilight DVD release party at Hastings. Honestly I did a whole lot of fun. At first I just walked around, talked to my friends, and basically just kindof chilled. Honestly, that is the only true reason I went. I do not really care about the movie because I did not like it. I went because the release party gave me a good excuse to hang with my friends at Hastings until midnight. Unfortunately, about 10:30 p.m. my friends decided to couple off and be all cute and lovey. Soooooo.....I went and found myself a good book. Then, about an hour and a half later, I decided that it was time to go.

The next Thursday I had to go to my friend's mandatory wedding party meeting. This reminded me that she was getting married in two months. Wow. Then that Friday was my other friend's sweet sixteen. This reminded me that she can now legally drive without an adult. Wow again.

So, as anyone can plainly see, my spring break was lazy, but eventful.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-44619966313439321092009-04-04T16:39:00.000-07:002009-04-08T16:48:43.798-07:00An excerpt...“When a miracle happens and some live to be forty-five, they are the Ancient Ones, and children stare at them when passing by the Home of the Useless.” In Ayn Rand’s Anthem, the average person lives around forty years. Some live longer, but none surpass the age of forty-five. To those of this day and age, this is a strange scenario.

Perhaps the biggest reason of all is simply that there is no hope. In life, hope is key. The people in Equality’s society have no hope, and which gives them nothing to live for. With hope there is always something better in the world. When one loses hope, they once again lose the will to live. When someone is lost, hope is there to guide them home again. Without hope, one will stay lost forever, never to be found. Equality’s society desperately needs hope. They need to know that somewhere out there, life is better. Somewhere, there is a place where one thrives on being different. Somewhere, there is a place where individuality is rejoiced. Somewhere, ego is honored.

Equality has the will to live. He goes out, finds a new home, and most likely lives to be older than forty-five. In not having the will to live, the soul starts to dematerialize. Without soul, there is no life. The simplest yet most important things are essential to living a longer and happier life. One just has to know how to branch out, be different, have ego.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-41590461230012701052009-02-06T19:54:00.000-08:002009-02-09T19:57:34.921-08:00A little brush of perspective.....There comes a time in everyone’s life when one must stick up for those around them. In one particular case, I had to stick up for one of my friends, against another of my friends. At first, I was not sure exactly what was going on. At one point we were all the very best of friends, then, suddenly two of us could not stand to look at each other. I couldn’t completely comprehend what was going on. None of us could. All I knew was that one of my best friends was crying herself to sleep at night. So, I snooped around. I found out what really went down. Karli had completely fallen for Darren, and Darren had led her on. He did not realize his mistake and continued to be a total jerk to her about it. This did not make me happy at all. I decided to confront him about the situation. I ended up telling him that if he was going to upset Karli and be a jerk to her then he did not need to be hanging around us. What he did was wrong and he never should have treated her that way. So yes, I stuck up for my friend because in this case it was the right thing to do. Yes, I lost Darren’s friendship, but in the end, what he did to Karli just put who he really was into a clearer perspective. I will always be there for my friends no matter what the consequences may be.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-3501645486227480182008-12-19T11:24:00.000-08:002009-01-08T18:12:08.164-08:00Half full/Half emptyChristmas is coming closer and so is the end of the first semester. I have recently been asked, "What does it feel like to be a sophmore.5?" How do I feel? I feel mixed. I'm really quite thrilled that the year is half over. I am in such a great need of a break. But, as eager as I am to start a new semester....I am also kind of dreading it. Soon the second semester will also have come and gone, leaving the class of 2011 only two years left in highschool. This truly saddens me to think of the small amount of time we have left. However, I am also excited to see what the future may hold. So, in the end one feeling does not over power the other. I am simply....mixed.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-29225611295814083082008-12-18T16:08:00.000-08:002009-01-08T18:09:35.621-08:00Fate...Ever heard the saying "what ever is meant to be, will be"? Fate is always going to happen. No one can change it. If two are meant to fall in love, they will. If one is meant to die tomorrow, they will. There is nothing in the world that can change the outcome of something meant to be. Fate.

Fate can be pretty scary. People like things that are controlable. Fate is not one of them. How does one know there own fate? Some believe in horoscopes and astronomical messages. However, one never really knows.

In the end, fate is really what controls life.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-37315109078949737592008-11-16T17:58:00.000-08:002008-12-16T14:01:54.277-08:00First things first! My class is still reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey, and so it is time for yet another opinionated blog. In one of the sections Covey talks about putting first things first. I have learned from my own past experiences that if one does not learn to prioritize then procrastination becomes a huge downfall.

I will go ahead and admit my fault. I am a procrastinator. After reading this section however I learned that some things are more important than others.

For example: Ever heard of homework before play? This is an excellant motto to live by. I know that teenagers have a tendency to think the other way around, but what good does that do?

It is best to learn what is really important. Seriously, if you have to stay home and study instead of going to the movies your friends will understand. Who knows? Maybe they will start to follow your example.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-70420348787228370032008-11-10T18:47:00.000-08:002008-11-10T19:54:22.399-08:00Learning to be Proactive! My classmates and I are currently reading The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey. In the very first chapter the Covey writes about how being proactive is the way to go.

From experience, having three younger brothers has taught me that being proactive is not always so easy. Being proactive means you have to be willing to let the little mishaps slide and not ruin your day.

When Kyle, my younger brother, was little he loved to come into my room and rummage through all of my belongings. I had just received a brand new bottle of the sweetest purple nail polish in the world. As I was sitting on my bed doing my homework, like the good little girl I was, my brother, without my knowledge, slipped in and snatched up the polish. Long story short, it ended up all over the downstairs carpet and I was furious.

Looking back now, I realize that my brother was only a little child and I completely wigged out way more than needed. I was young then, and now I know that if I had just been more proactive the situation could have ended differently.

So now I shall end this blog with two simple words of wisdom....BE PROACTIVE!

It just makes life easier. :)writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-53188783494062021022008-11-02T15:42:00.000-08:002008-11-10T19:56:10.317-08:00My letter to the next presidentDear Senator Obama:

In the event of your election I would like to say a few words on behalf of the many issues you will now have to deal with as president.

First I would like to comment on your choice for vice president. Personally I believe you should have chosen Hillary Clinton instead of Joe Biden. Although Biden does have much experience in the vast world of politics I strongly believe Clinton would have made a much better running mate. However, I do think that Biden is a much better choice for a Vice President than Sarah Palin, so kudos to you for having some common sense.

Next I would like to bring up the issue of gas prices. I, as well as every other American in this country, have decided that the oil companies have gone too far! All they care about is their own greed and that green papered friend. I hope you plan on doing something about this because it’s absolutely killing Americans.

Lastly, I would like to say that I mostly agree with your views on abortion. I especially agree about the whole deal with women being able to have privacy and make their own decisions about the matter.

Thank you so much for your time and good luck to you in the future.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-32659327813728578872008-10-20T20:23:00.000-07:002008-10-20T20:52:06.782-07:00A look at the character of Katerina!Evil ones beware! The fearless Katerina is here to retrieve the life she once knew and lost, and finally take down the evil Mortar. With her mighty strength and incredible endurance she’ll finally restore good to the planet Krokus. When Katerina was left to die the cunning fox Puck saved her life, healing all wounds and making her stronger than ever. The thing about sci-fi is that people then to believe it way to much. For example, the whole 'aliens in outer space deal. Oh please people get real. Don't you think that if there really were aliens that wanted to destroy us they already would have? Now don't get me wrong, some of the sci-fi stuff is actually OK. I thought the whole concept of I-robot was pretty fascinating. Really it's the stupid alien invasion stuff that gets me. Also, since we're on the subject, I think sci-fi is better portrayed in action rather than in writing. I get bored easily with the books but put it all in a movie and I'm like "Wow!".writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1605170182781586468.post-14801669325057020872008-09-18T19:54:00.000-07:002008-09-18T20:03:00.898-07:00And so it begins...Hi. Okay so let me explain a little bit about this blog. Mostly this blog will contain of school related subjects, such as the first few. However, sometimes something interesting might happen in the world or, my life, and I might just feel the need to blog about it. This is not going to be a "world-known" blog. It is simply the words (and mostly assignments) of an average highschooler. Feel free to comment and ask questions about any of the blogs. Actually, please comment and ask questions. Maybe, this blog thing could be entertaining afterall.writer_2011http://www.blogger.com/profile/11022250884621372341noreply@blogger.com0
